Day 1: Amritsar to Rishikesh – Beginning the Divine Ride
Start your sacred journey early morning from Amritsar to Rishikesh, covering approximately 400 km. En route, witness changing landscapes from the Punjab plains to the foothills of the Himalayas. Reach Rishikesh by evening and check into your hotel. After some rest, visit Triveni Ghat for the peaceful Ganga Aarti. The spiritual atmosphere sets the tone for your pilgrimage. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.
Day 2: Rishikesh to Joshimath – Into the Himalayas
After breakfast, begin your uphill journey to Joshimath. This scenic drive passes through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag—where sacred rivers merge. Enjoy mesmerizing views of river valleys, mountain ranges, and spiritual confluences. Reach Joshimath by evening and check into your hotel. Relax and prepare for the next day’s journey into higher altitudes. Overnight stay in Joshimath.
Day 3: Joshimath to Govindghat, Trek to Ghangaria
After an early breakfast, drive about 20 km to Govindghat, the starting point of the Hemkunt Sahib trek. From here, begin a 13 km uphill trek to Ghangaria, a base camp nestled in the mountains. You can choose to walk, hire a pony, or use a helicopter service (if operational). On arrival, check into a guesthouse or camp and relax. The air is fresh, and the surroundings are filled with spiritual energy. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
Day 4: Trek to Hemkunt Sahib & Return to Ghangaria
This is the most spiritually rewarding day. Begin your early morning trek (6 km one way) to Hemkunt Sahib, a sacred Gurudwara nestled at an altitude of over 15,000 feet. Surrounded by snow-clad peaks and a glacial lake, this site is believed to be the meditation ground of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in his previous birth. After paying your respects and experiencing the divine calm, descend back to Ghangaria. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat, Drive to Rudraprayag
Begin your descent early in the morning with a 13 km downhill trek to Govindghat. After reaching, drive toward Rudraprayag, one of the Panch Prayag where Alaknanda meets Mandakini River. This peaceful town is ideal for rest and reflection after your trek. Check into a hotel and spend your evening by the river. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
Day 6: Rudraprayag to Rishikesh – Tracing the Sacred Rivers
After breakfast, drive back to Rishikesh. You’ll pass along the banks of the Ganges and revisit the picturesque mountain roads. Upon arrival in Rishikesh, take time to shop for spiritual souvenirs or relax by the river. Optional: Visit Parmarth Niketan or Ram Jhula. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.
Day 7: Rishikesh to Amritsar – Completing the Pilgrimage
After an early breakfast, drive back to Amritsar with your heart filled with peace, blessings, and unforgettable memories. Reach by late evening, marking the end of your spiritually uplifting Hemkunt Sahib Yatra.
